Hamtrack
Well it has been a while since I have posted anything on this hear blog which is not to say that there has not been anything of note to put here, just that I have kept myself busy in other areas and not made time for it.
This one though I had to write about. Regular readers know that here in Pittsburgh a number of amateur radio operators, or hams, meet once a week on the air to discuss all things related to steel wheels on steel rails. The Pittsburgh Rail Fan Net meets on the air every Thursday evening and you are welcome to listen or join in.
A while back the folks that normally get in on the net teamed up with a group from one of our local radio clubs and decided to combine the two hobbies. Thus the Skyview Radio Society and the rail fans were off on an adventure together and of course it was by rail.
Bob, WC3O, who master minded this event has written and article about it for the ARRL web site. If you haven't seen it yet I think you will find it interesting reading.
